This example was manufactured in 1979 in Germany and imported through HK Inc of Arlington, Virginia as a sales sample, likely for demonstration to American law enforcement. Many "MP5" SMG's on the market were made by American firms using semi-auto HK94 carbines, but this is a factory fresh HK MP5-SD2. This particular MP5 variant is all the more desirable in that it includes the original factory matching serial numbered suppressor. The two-stage suppressor works in conjunction with a short perforated barrel. The SD variant was initially developed in 1974, and has been used by various specialist units around the world. Standard ghost ring front and four position drum rear sights, standard marking on the upper receiver with 1979 "HK" date code, "S/E/F" marked full auto trigger group with integral textured grip, and collapsible buttstock. Includes canvas web sling.
