This is a scarce early mid-range Krieghoff "S" code Luger pistol that was manufactured for the Luftwaffe. Marked "S" over the chamber indicating manufacture in 1935. The pistol has the early features such as the B-2 die variation marked toggle that has the "H" and "K" marked on each side of the Krieghoff Anchor and only the word "SUHL", marked below that. The blade is symmetrical and the points of the anchor nearly touch the outer edge of the letters "H" and "K" and the word "SUHL" is slightly slanted to the right with the flat bottom on the letter "U". The full serial number is stamped on the front of the frame, and left side of the barrel extension, and the last two digits, "63" on the side plate, front and rear toggle assembly, trigger and takedown lever. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the early "LWaA" 1st-Stage Luftwaffe acceptance proof followed by the Luftwaffe test proof and small "eagle/2" proof. The underside of the barrel is marked with the bore diameter and the early "eagle/2" acceptance proof. The pistol is fitted with the early Ritzmann manufactured brown plastic grips with the fine checkering and narrow border around the edge. They are correctly un-numbered or proofed and have the various mold marks on the backs. It is fitted with a nickel plated magazine with the aluminum base stamped with the upside down Krieghoff "eagle/2" proof over serial number "1261". A black leather holster is included, with a faint makers marks and an "eagle/2" stamp inside the body

Very fine. There is evidence of some cold blue touch up visible on the front barrel sight base and on the left side of frame. The remainder of the pistol retains 85% of the original high polished blue finish showing edge and high spot wear overall, and finish loss on the muzzle area and lower front grip strap. The various small parts retain 60% of the original straw color. The grips are excellent showing some minor light nicks/handling marks and crisp checkering. Clear markings. The holster is very good as modified, with slits in the back of the body and riveted belt loops, along with mild cracking and scuffing.
