Manufactured on contract for the Luftwaffe, this is a scare Heinrich Krieghoff produced Luger pistol. A sporting firm at heart, Krieghoff turned in a quality product with their Luger, impressing the Luftwaffe enough to win additional contracts to produce machine guns and impressing both military inspectors and later collectors with their fine fit and finish. Only about 300 of these pistols were manufactured for the Luftwaffe in 1943 (see Gibson's "The Krieghoff Parabellum" on page 182). Fixed sights, with the "1943" date on the chamber and the Krieghoff dagger/anchor logo (C-2 die pattern) on the front toggle link. "Eagle/2" proofs are present on multiple components, with an "883" bore diameter measurement on the barrel, "GESICHERT/GELADEN" safe/loaded marks, straw colored small parts, and unmarked replacement checkered grips. Aside from the replacement magazine, numbers are matching overall. Includes a Krieghoff black leather flap holster with "eagle/2" stamped on the interior back.

Fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing a small amount of shallow pitting on the sides of the muzzle, areas of gray patina, bright edges, and mild spotting and handling marks. 50% of the original straw color is present, the rest having a gray patina. The replacement grips are very good, with some light dings. The holster is fine, with mild scuffs and wear. The hold open will not engage due to the replaced fair condition magazine need some adjustment, otherwise the pistol is mechanically fine.
