The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, finish, grips, factory engraving by George Spring, and June 8, 1988 date of shipment to Southern Ohio Gun Distributors. The letter further notes the pistol was shipped on Custom Shop order number 2989, and is one of only 9 pistols produced in the Sampler Edition, in this particular configuration. Standard markings and features along with splashes of floral scroll engraving on the slide and frame and "Colt Engraving Sampler" in fancy script letters on the back strap. The left grip panel is inscribed "R, Henshaw 1831/L. Nimschke 1850-1900/C. Helfricht 1871-1921/Contemporary" indicating the four styles of engraving present on the pistol. Includes an unmarked leather and cloth case.

Near new in case with only light handling marks overall. Case is excellent.
