The included Colt factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, finish, checkered wraparound walnut grips with back strap exposed and nickel Colt medallions, with orange disk on back of cylinder (safety tag is absent). The letter states that the revolver was a sample and display revolver kept by the Colt factory. The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT BORDER PATROL / .357 MAGNUM CTG." and the one line Hartford address on the right. Is equipped with target sights. With a Colt box for a different model of gun.

Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with a mild cylinder drag line and only the slightest handling marks. The grips are excellent with the exception of a few very light handling marks and an absent grip screw. Mechanically excellent.
