Manufactured in 1915. Beaded blade front and elevation adjustable sporting notch rear sights, sixth style barrel inscription, Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, "22 SHORT" on the upper left flat at the breech, checkered hammer and serrated trigger, three-line patent and trademark marking on upper tang, and matching serial numbers on the lower tang and receiver. Short, twelve groove, maple wood slide handle and smooth, capped, pistol grip stock with non-factory added/inletted black diamond insets at the wrist, and crescent steel buttplate. At the time of this writing the cataloger did not have a factory letter. However, the left side of the lower tang, buttstock under the crescent buttplate and back of the buttplate are all marked with the matching assembly number "129." Winchester marked special order Model 1890 stocks with an assembly number. Birdseye maple is a rarely seen special order feature. Very good with 40% faded original blue finish on the barrel, areas of brown patina, small surface scratches and nicks, edge wear, light spotting, and some faint surface pitting. The receiver displays some edge wear and a mostly brown patina on the breech bolt and tangs. The wood is good with numerous dents, dings, and bruises throughout, some surface grain cracking, and mottled brown patina on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
