The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, factory checkered stock, and December 17, 1908 date of shipment. Beaded blade front and elevation adjustable sporting notch rear sights, fifth style barrel inscription, Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, "22 SHORT" caliber marking on the upper left flat at the breech, checkered hammer and smooth trigger, two-line trademark stamp on the upper tang, and matching serial numbers on the lower tang and receiver. Short, twelve groove forearm and factory checkered, capped pistol grip stock with crescent buttplate. The left side of the lower tang and end of the buttstock are stamped with matching assembly number "3517".

Very fine with 70% plus blue finish remaining, areas of high point and edge wear, mixed gray patina on the magazine tube, scattered nicks and scratches, cycling marks, and some scattered light surface spotting. The wood is fine with small dings and scratches throughout, and light wear on the checkered grip panels. Mechanically excellent.
