This approximately 9 3/4 by 12 1/2 inch print shows the tepees and inhabitants of Spotted Eagle's village on the Tongue River in the Montana Territory in 1879 based on the caption listed in the title. It also has the "L.A. Huffman Miles City, Montana" copyright line on the lower right. It is matted and fitted in a 15 1/8 by 19 1/2 inch frame. The backing for the frame is marked "Robert Conway/Miles City Sadddlery Print" and "SPOTTED EAGLES HOSTILE SIOUX VILLAGE/8.50 1319B/written on back of print."

Very good with very clear and brightly colored image and mild wear along the edges of the frame. This print would pair well with the portrait of Spotted Eagle by Huffman also in the sale. Provenance: The John Fox Collection.
