Description:

Manufactured in 1929. Features a pinned blade front sight, notch and ladder rear sight, the address on the right at the breech, the model and caliber designation on the left, saddle ring staple without ring attached on the left side of the frame, trademark information on the upper tang, and standard oil finished walnut stock and forearm. Winchester lever action carbines and rifles were very popular in the early 20th century, including with lawmen and outlaws during Prohibition, especially in the West where they were used by the Texas Rangers and other law enforcement officers pursuing dangerous criminal gangs.

Rating Definition:

Very good with 70% original blue finish, patchy loss mainly on the frame and outer parts, a small partially drilled spot in the buttplate, strong oiled finish on the wood, and general mild wear. Mechanically excellent. A classic Winchester carbine ready for the range. Provenance: The John Fox Collection.
