Description:

This unique tool appears to be one of the early ancestors of the modern multi-tools that many of us carry on our belts today. This example appears to have been made as a camp tool or possibly for gardening/pruning. The main feature is the small spiked axe head which measures 4 1/2 inches from edge to spike, with the edge about 1 3/4 inches wide. Should a stubborn branch or limb cross your path and the mini-hatchet just won't cut it (pun intended), this handy little tool also has a folding 7 inch long saw blade that will have that branch ready for the fireplace in no time. The grip scales are made up of four bone panels secured by rivets.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, showing mostly a grey patina with some traces of a blue finish remaining and some scattered patches of light pitting. The grip scales are very fine with some mild handling evidence. The saw blade operates as it should.
