Manufactured c. 1855 as one of the approximately 11,000 London manufactured Model 1849 Pocket revolvers. The barrel has the two-line London address, cylinder has the stagecoach holdup scene, frame has "COLTS/PATENT," and matching numbers on the barrel, frame, grip straps, loading lever, cylinder, wedge and arbor pin. Includes a hardwood case with a blank brass escutcheon on the lid, a Colt's Patent dual-cavity bullet mold, cleaning rod, nipple wrench, Eley Bros. cap tin, James Dixon & Sons silver plated bag flask, and an assortment of bullets and balls.

Fine, retains 50% of the original high polish blue finish on the barrel, 70% of the original vivid case colors on the loading lever, and 95% plus of the replated silver with the balance a smooth grey patina. The refinished grip is very good with some scattered minor dings and scratches and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. The accessories are fine or better with some generally mild wear.
