Only around 15,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in 1847-1850 compared to over 325,000 of the Model 1849 Pockets. This one was manufactured in 1848 and has a German silver post front sight, "-ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW-YORK CITY-" on top of the barrel, the Indian and Rangers cylinder scene, round cylinder stops, "COLTS/PATENT" marking on the left side of the frame, squareback trigger guard, and matching serial numbers on the barrel, arbor pin, cylinder, frame, wedge, trigger guard, and back strap.

Fine, retains 60% original blue finish on the barrel and 80% of the original silver with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina with some scattered patches of light pitting. The cylinder scene is extremely fine. The grip is also fine with some minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent. These Colt Baby Dragoons are seldom found in this fine of condition!
