Description:

The Model 1862 is one of the most attractive and most advanced of all of the Colt percussion revolvers. This revolver was manufactured in 1862 and remains in very fine condition, especially for a Civil War era Colt percussion revolver. It has a cone front sight, "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" on the top of the barrel, "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame, "36 CAL" and "4" on the left side of the trigger guard, and all matching serial numbers (wedge remarked). The case contains some bullets, an iron "COLTS/PATENT" bullet mold, cap tin, key, L-shaped combination tool, cartridge pack, and a brass powder flask with a revolver on it.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95% plus vibrant original case colors, 75% original blue finish on the barrel, 40% original blue finish and smooth brown patina on the cylinder, 25% original silver plating on the grip straps, aged patina visible on the exposed brass, and generally light overall wear. The grip is also very fine and has strong original finish, minor handling and storage marks, slight chips at the toe, and light edge wear. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine and has minor storage related wear, and the accessories are very good and have generally mild wear.
