Manufactured in 1856 with a brass cone front sight, the two-line New York barrel address, standard stagecoach cylinder scene and patent markings, "2" on the barrel lug, "L" and "X" on the left side of the trigger guard, and matching serial numbers on the various components, including the grip. The custom fitted case contains a double sided eagle pattern powder flask, cartridge pack, cap tin, and a Colt patent brass bullet mold without sprue cutter.

Fine with 40% original blue finish on the barrel, 80% original silver plating on the grip frame with aged patina, 40% original bright case colors on the loading lever, 30% lighter "smokey" case colors on the frame and hammer, mostly smooth gray patina on the balance, crisp markings and cylinder scene, mostly solid safety pins, and generally only mild age and handling related wear overall. The grips is very fine and has nearly all of the high polish "piano" varnish finish, minor edge wear, and a tiny flake at the toe. Mechanically excellent. The accessories and modified case are good and have mostly storage related wear along with a crack across the lid and some dents on the flask. Overall, a solid representative cased set. This revolver appears to have had the finish fall off rather than worn off and is very attractive.
