Blade front and 3-leaf folding rear sights, with the American eagle on the bolster, "1862" on top of the chamber, a conjoined "VP" on the upper left flat, and "N.J" on the rear barrel flat. The lock plate is marked "1863" to the rear of the hammer, and "U.S./ COLT'S Pt F.A. Mfg Co/ HARTFORD Ct" in three lines in front of it. Smooth straight grip stock, with a tulip head ramrod, 3 screw-secured barrel bands, sling swivels, "N.J" stamped opposite the lock, and a "U.S" marked buttplate. With a wood barrel plug.

Excellent with some minor spotting and handling marks on the armory bright surface, showing light wear around the muzzle from a bayonet and minor scuffs on the trigger guard. A thin crack is visible on the hammer near the screw. Stock is excellent with only mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent. Appears unissued.
