This incredible William Tranter double action revolver remains in absolutely incredible condition and displays classic English scroll engraving throughout. The frame and ejector have the "W. TRANTER'S/PATENT" markings with "55864". The bottom of the barrel and rear face of cylinder are marked "9". The barrel has a rounded blade front sight and "J. BLANCH & SON,/GRACECHURCH ST. LONDON" retailer marking, and the top strap is grooved for a rear sight. The grip is finely checkered. The nicely figured hardwood case has royal blue lining and a John Blanch & Son trade label.

Excellent overall with 98% plus original nickel plating and bright original niter blue finish, crisp engraving and markings, sharp grip checkering, and minimal light handling and storage wear. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine and has minor age and storage related wear.
