Manufactured in the mid-19th century. The rifled Damascus barrels have a bead front sight on the rib which is signed "FREDc WILSON MAKER" and have Birmingham proofs and "100" bore markings (.36 caliber) on the bottom. A swivel mounted ramrod is fitted below the barrels. The casehardened back action locks have light engraving and are signed "WILSON." There is also some light engraving the furniture. The stock has checkering on the wrist and forend. The case has "GG" inscribed on the lid escutcheon and contains a "96" marked ball mold, patches, an Eley cap tin, small powder flask, some lead balls, an oiler, and a cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 70% original vibrant case colors remaining on the locks and furniture, 50% original brown finish and distinct Damascus patterns on the barrels as well as some minor pitting, 25% original bright blue finish remaining on the trigger guard, and mottled gray and brown patina on the balance of the trigger guard. The stock is also very fine and has sharp checkering, smooth oiled finish, and minimal handling and storage wear. Mechanically excellent. The case and accessories are very good and have mostly age and storage related wear. This is definitely a very attractive cased pistol.
