GREENER 68 HAYMARKET LONDON & St. MARY'S SQUARE BIRMINGHAM/GREENER'S WROUGHT STEEL INDESTRUCTIBLE BY GUN POWDER" on the left and right respectively, chambers measured at 2 5/8 inches, Birmingham black powder proofs on the flats, and "WROUGHT STEEL" and Greener elephant logo markings on the tubes. Heavyweight casehardened box lock action with crossbolt third fastener, relief carved fences, nitre blue side safety with gold inlaid "SAFE" marking, and dual triggers. The action is engraved with full coverage fine English scroll surrounding big game scenes of a leopard on the right, tiger on the left, two different species of Asian deer on the trigger plate, and running stag on the trigger guard. The trigger guard tang is marked with the matching serial number and "GRADE F ROYAL". Checkered forearm with horn tip insert and engraved fittings, and pistol grip stock with lightly engraved casehardened grip cap, raised cheekpiece, gold initial shield with blue and red enameled "crown/NS" crest, and solid rubber recoil pad. Includes original, maker's leatherbound takedown case with "POWDER 7 DRAMS/BULLET 708 GRNS" on the left side of the lid, "10 BORE SMOOTH/No. 47100" on the right, W.W. Greener interior trade label, and assorted cleaning and reloading tools.

Very fine. The barrels have 90% original blue finish remaining with crisp markings, some visible muzzle and edge wear, light forearm marks, and some scattered small scratches and dings. The action has 90% original case colors, visible protective varnish, well-defined engraving, and visible silvering on the high points and edges. The refinished wood is fine with scattered small dings visible throughout, well-defined mildly worn checkering, some visible fill on the cheekpiece, visible hardening and deterioration of the pad. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some scuffs on the exterior, replacement leather on the handle, and absent straps. The interior has some tears.
