This Griffin & Howe customized Model 70 was originally built by Winchester in 1949. Along with the standard Winchester markings, the barrel is engraved "REBUILT BY GRIFFIN & HOWE INC. NEW YORK" on top. It is fitted with a stippled ramped beaded blade front sight (bead absent) and a two-leaf rear sight dovetailed into a block retained by two screws, with the two folding leaves marked for 100 and 150 yards with gold inlaid center lines. Winchester factory oval proofs are visible on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The receiver ring is matted on top with the serial number offset to the right, jewelled bolt, and the bolt handle knob is checkered. The action has an attached Griffin & Howe side mount and Lyman peep sight block with the sight absent. Mounted with a fleur-de-lis checkered stock with contrasting forend cap, pistol grip with contrasting cap, sling swivel studs, blank initial oval, and a solid rubber recoil pad. Includes a letter of authenticity signed by Tom Selleck confirming it is from his personal collection.

Very fine as custom, retains 99% blue finish with a few scattered light handling marks. The wood is very good with a few scattered light dings, the buttstock extended 1 1/8 inches with color-matched wood (grain mismatched), added recoil pad, and crisp checkering overall.
