Description:

This carbine appears to be a prototype of a squeeze cocking breech loading carbine that is possibly intended for some type of pinfire or pellet primed cartridge. There are no visible markings and some internal components are marked "2". To cock the weapon the bottom lever is squeezed which retracts the locking lug and firing pin, allowing the breech to be opened. Rotating the handle at the rear of the receiver into a screw mounted block on the upper tang is the only way to lock the breech until the trigger is pulled. When the trigger is pulled on a closed breech the locking lug comes up from the bottom of the receiver to lock the breech block and the firing pit comes up from the bottom of the chamber to strike the cartridge simultaneously. The barrel has six-groove rifling. Mounted with a one-piece walnut stock with a low cheek piece. Further research could yield positive results.

Rating Definition:

Very good, showing mostly a thinned brown finish mixed with a smooth grey patina. The wood is fine with minor dings and scratches scattered throughout and a couple hairline cracks. Mechanically functions fine.
