Description:

According to the accompanying factory letter, this is one of 150 revolvers delivered to the U.S. Government inspector at the Colt plant on November 26, 1884. The "US" stamped frame has the David F. Clark "DFC" inspector marking, which is repeated on the barrel, cylinder, and grip. "P" proof mark is stamped on the barrel and cylinder. Matching numbers are on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder and barrel. The grip has faint cartouches on both sides and an illegible date on the left side.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retaining traces of original blue and casehardened finishes in the protected areas, otherwise a mixture of smooth brown and gray patinas. The grip is good with a missing minor chip and large filled repair visible near the bottom (left side), otherwise some minor-moderate dings. Mechanically functions, but does not hold on the half-cock notch.
