Description:

Manufactured from 1868 to 1875. The revolver has New York engraving consisting of profuse broad floral scrollwork. A floral blossom is engraved behind the hammer. A zig-zag line motif surrounds the barrel rib marking. The revolver is fitted with desirable silver plated grips featuring relief floral and scroll motifs throughout, the April 1874 patent date on the left panel and a relief bust of a knight on the right panel. Matching assembly marks are found on the grip frame, barrel and cylinder.

Rating Definition:

Excellent as New York engraved, retaining 97% plus original silver plating. The grips are in equal excellent condition. The engraving is crisp. Mechanically excellent. A high condition example of a Nimschke New York engraved Number 1 1/2 2nd Issue Revolver with highly sought after DeGress grips. Provenance: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection.
