Description:

The New Model 3 dominated target competitions in the late 1800s, and are found in the serial number range below 4,333. Of the 4,333 target variations manufactured, only 1,413 were chambered in .38-44 caliber. It has target sights, two-line barrel rib marking ending with the reissue patent date, right grip panel numbered to a different gun, unnumbered barrel latch and matching serial numbers on the butt, 1 7/16 inch cylinder and barrel.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 95% plus original nickel finish with scattered flaking on the balance. 95% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard. There is a scuff on the bottom, otherwise the grips are also excellent with a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection.
