Description:

Offered here is a Spanish copy of a Smith & Wesson No. 3 Russian revolver. The revolver is decorated with period gold and silver floral and scroll patterns along with wide silver band borders. This motif is repeated on the metal grips. The barrel rib has "F. DE ORBEA HERMANOS EIBAR" in gold. Their shop first opened in 1840, copied many Smith & Wesson models into the first part of the 20th century, and remains active today as manufacturers of bicycles. The left grip panel, cylinder, and barrel are numbered to the gun. With the revolver is a collection tag marked "1433."

Rating Definition:

Very good overall. Strong amounts of original blue remain in the cylinder flutes, otherwise the revolver has a smooth brown patina. Most of the silver and gold remains. Mechanically needs work as cylinder does not lock, otherwise action functions properly. An attractive exhibition quality Spanish variation of the S&W's famous No. 3 Russian revolver.
