Manufactured in 1906 according the Madis numbers as well as his included letter. This rifle has a plethora of special order features rarely seen on a non-deluxe rifle, especially a Model 1892. It is quite clear that whoever originally ordered this rifle placed far more emphasis on the rifles function than on its looks as no unnecessary frills like deluxe wood were ordered, while an almost surgically precise sight and set trigger were. It has standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, with the barrel proof and caliber marking offset to the upper left to accommodate the extra length of the rear sight. The barrel is fitted with a special order dovetailed, gold plated, Beach-style combination front sight and the highly desirable "7-leaf express" or "6-leaf and tangent" rear sights that features six leaves numbered 1-6 with platinum center lines and a folding ladder tangent leaf numbered 7-10. Along with the special order sights, the rifle was fitted with a factory close coupled double set trigger and sling screw eyes. Mounted with smooth "extra finish" forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration including all of the desirable special order features as well as receipt at the warehouse on 23 January 1908 and shipment on 13 February 1908 with one other Model 1892 in order number 136174. The Madis letter also confirms this rare special order configuration. Includes a letter of authenticity signed by Tom Selleck confirming it is from his personal collection.

Very fine, retains 97% factory refurbished blue finish overall with some light thinning to a plum hue at the muzzle and a light speckling of grey-brown on the receiver. 75% case colors remain on the hammer, lever, and buttplate, with the balance a smooth grey patina. The wood is very fine with a minor chip and hairline crack in the upper left of the wrist and otherwise only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
