Description:

This mid-19th century combination knife-pistol would have been an excellent form of early "concealed carry" weapon for those that could afford it. At its core, it is a single shot .28 caliber percussion pistol, however, if that single ball wasn't enough to deter your attacker you had two different folding knife blades to choose from to further dissuade them. The larger of the blades 3 3/4 inches long while the smaller measures 2 1/2 inches with the folding trigger mounted between them. Both blades are marked "UNWIN&/RODGERS/SHEFFIELD". The grip scales are of smooth horn and a pair of tweezers are concealed in the right grip panel with an empty slot in the left.

Rating Definition:

Very good, the blades showing a mixture of bright and grey patinas with some evidence of light cleaning. The German silver barrel shows an attractive antique patina. The percussion nipple is partially absent. The grips are also very good with some light scratches and dings scattered throughout. Mechanically fine.
