Description:

This black and white version of this photograph is not marked or signed, but other prints, including the smaller colorized print in lot and another black and white print in the Detroit Institute of Arts, are marked "Saddling The Wild Horse." Montana Historical Society's version is a broader image and is listed as " Saddling the Wild Horse, Andy Speelman, Ekalaka," and they specify that it was taken on July 4, 1894, by Laton Alton Huffman (1854-1931). It measures just over 11x14 inches and shows a man saddling a horse with rolling hills in the background.

Rating Definition:

Very good with minor wear mainly on the mounting stock and some light staining. The "crease" in the bottom left is part of the print, not damage and is seen on some other prints. Provenance: The John Fox Collection.
