Dating to circa 1875. With browned damascus octagonal rifled barrel with bead front sight and signed “Laine bte. arqr. de. tir national" towards the breech end. Casehardened scroll engraved patent breech, standing breech incorporating the rear sight, floating “island” lock with stepped tail and furniture including spurred trigger guard. Ebonized half length stock carved in low relief with scrollwork on the forearm and with fluted butt, the forearm with German silver barrel key escutcheons.

Fine. Barrel retaining most of the fading rebrowned finish remains, signature softened. Iron parts with faded grey continental European casehardening, some scattered surface discoloration and minor pitting at the breech.. Stock with numerous age related storage and handling blemishes. Mechanically very good.
