The blued lock is "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" marked, with a three-click tumbler. Smooth straight wrist stock, with a brown leather Rock Island marked sling, "SWP/1886" cartouche, and a "US" marked steel buttplate. A black leather "US" marked cartridge box is included, containing six rounds of ammunition.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% plus of the bright original blue finish, showing some light contact rubs around the muzzle (likely from a bayonet), a small amount of spotting, and mild handling marks. The breechblock and receiver tang both show 98% bright vivid case colors, and the excellent wood shows mild dings and scratches. The box shows wear and cracking appropriate to age, but generally remaining solid and supple, with mild stains and verdigris around the cartridges and brass components. Mechanically excellent.
