Manufactured in circa 1885. Browned damascus steel barrels with raised rib signed "S.W. SILVER & Co, 66 & 67, CORNHILL, LONDON." with front ramp sight and single white bead, 3 1/4 inch chambers, and Birmingham nitro reproof marks on the barrel flats. The casehardened Jones Patent rotary underlever action has carved percussion fences, light border engraving, back-action locks signed "S.W. SILVER & Co", non-rebounding hammers and smooth double triggers. Blued underlever and trigger guard with the serial number "No 3851" marked on the extended lower tang along with a stylized "SWS". Checkered straight-hand stock with lightly bordered furniture, horn forend wedge, and Silver's rubber recoil pad. Weight 13 lbs.

Very good with 95% of the rebrowned finish remaining with some scattered smoothed out pitting. The casehardened action, locks, and furniture display traces of the original finish in the protected areas with the remainder a smooth gray patina with some areas of discoloration. The underlever, trigger guard, and some of the screws retain nearly all of their reblued finish, with the latter being nitre blue finish. The refinished wood has well-defined checkering, some minor handling marks, a slight crack on the forend, and some chipping and excess glue around the forend wedge. Mechanically excellent.
