Manufactured by C.M. King of Oakland, California, this combination shotgun/rifle features a side break action. The mechanism is identical to that of a double barrel shotgun, except the action breaks to the right. The break lever is mounted on the right side of the action and pivots downward to open the barrels. The rifle barrel is on top and the 16 gauge shotgun barrel on the bottom. The rifle barrel gauges at 30 caliber, and the chamber is slightly smaller than a 30-30. There is a dovetailed blade front sight, and the rear sight has been broken off and is absent. The barrels feature a split forearm. The left side has a lever which when pivoted releases the wood much like a shotgun forearm release. The shotgun gauges at a full choke with a 2 3/4 inch chamber and an extractor. The top of the rifle barrel is marked "C.M. KING MAKER OAKLAND, CAL." The action, trigger guard and forearm hardware are engraved with a floral scroll design. The left side of the action also has a deer being chased by two hunting dogs in a wooded scene in a round panel. The number "3" is stamped on the barrel flat, inside of the forearm hardware and on the water table. Double triggers, tang mounted manual safety, the barrels and trigger guard are blue, the action and forearm hardware are casehardened, and it is mounted with a multi-point checkered walnut split forearm and straight grip stock with a serrated horn buttplate. Length of pull is 13 7/8 inches.

Very good. The barrels retain 98% original blue finish with some very minor muzzle wear, some minor scratching from rear sight adjusting and a couple of minor dings. The trigger guard has a smooth gray patina. The action retains 50% original case colors mixed with a smooth gray patina. The receiver shows the remnants of a protective coat of varnish. The wood is also very good with some minor dings and scratches and very crisp checkering. The markings and engraving are clear. Mechanically very
