Blued barrels marked "GEBRUDER MERKEL, SUHL" on the left side of the breech block and surrounded by scroll engraving on both sides, with matted raised rib with large white front and mid beads, and German proof marks dated to 1953. Coin finished hidden hand detachable side lock action with full coverage tight scroll engraving and signed "GEBRUDER MERKEL/SUHL" in banners on the bottom of the action. Blued, checkered top lever and safety, smooth double triggers, and dark horn trigger guard. Nicely figured checkered walnut stock with raised cheekpiece, hard rubber grip cap, screwed on swivel in the stock with the corresponding swivel attached to the bottom barrel, leather faced rubber ventilated butt pad, and three piece checkered forend with Deeley release. Comes with a matching set of 26 inch .30-06 barrels and a combination set of 25 1/2 inch 12 gauge/7x65Rmm barrels, each with a single standing leaf sight and integral quick detach scope bases. Comes with suede compartment case and Nickel scope in Suhler mounts to fit rifle and combo barrels.

The shotgun barrels retain 95% original blued finish, engraving clear and crisp markings. The coin finished action has crisp engraving with a few minor scratches on the bottom. The top lever retains about 80% of the original blue finish. The horn trigger guard has a few minor chips and scratches. The wood and full forearm with some wear and scratches and small damage to checkering, as well as a filled rear swivel stud hole. The rubber butt pad has hardened. The rifle barrels retain 98% original blued finish turning to plum in places with some handling marks. The combination barrels retain 95% original blued finish with very slight handling marks. Case has some scuffing and discoloration, with the brass locks having some oxidation, and the interior has been partially relined and reblocked for the sets of barrels. Mechanically excellent.
