The left side frame arm is inscribed "HOTCHKISS REVOLVING CANNON mfd. by Michael Suchka - Clarington, Ohio - U.S.A./model 1887 Caliber 45-70 Gov. serial number 15989". Features five revolving oversized barrels with .45-70 chambered inner barrels, brass construction, and a steel and wood carriage. Per consignor, cannon was professionally refurbished by UNcommon Arms, Laurel, MD, Spring 2020 – complete new firing system to make fully functional including new magazine with UNcommon Arms marked brass follower, 2nd firing pin carrier, and three extra firing pins. Very fine. The cannon has 95% original blue finish with a few areas of oxidation and spotting on the barrels, handling marks overall, and mild patination on the brass components. Garrison carriage is fully functional with expected wear, and some small dings.
