Description:

Manufactured in 1935 with wide blade front and square notch flat top rear sights, with the two-line address and patent dates on the left side of the slide, the National Match nomenclature on the right and a Schwartz patent firing pin safety. The Government Model frame is marked "X/VP" on the left side of the trigger guard and "60" on the right, with a short milled trigger, wide checkered hammer, arched checkered mainspring housing, checkered grips, and "COLT/45 AUTO" marked two-tone magazine. Correct barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO MATCH" on the left. Included is a letter/form dated 13 February 1947 from T.E. Buchanan, General Manager of the Marine Department of The Texas Company (TEXACO) requesting ships masters to provide information regarding firearms on the various ships of the company. The form at the bottom has been filled out by the master of the S. S. TEXACO Colorado dated 23 March 1947, listing the pistol by serial number and signed by him.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retains 97% plus bright high polish blue finish with a few scattered light handling marks and some scattered specks of surface oxidation visible on top of the slide. The grips are also excellent with minimal handling evidence and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
