According to the included factory letter, this pistol was shipped as part of a 50-piece order to Mexico sometime about July 18-July 21 in 1931; the remarks on the letter note that the records don't include a specific destination within Mexico or a specific shipping date. Fixed blade and notch sights, two-line address and patent dates on the left side of the slide, caliber marking and Rampant Colt logo on the right, short checkered trigger, slide catch, thumb safety, wide spur hammer, magazine release, arched mainspring housing, and checkered grips. The barrel is unmarked, with a blued finish and a polished chamber hood. Includes a renumbered to match matching serialized correct pattern Colt "black box", including an instruction sheet, "Special Instructions" and "Shooting Suggestions" papers, and a Super 38 pamphlet.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, showing some light scratches and handling marks overall, bright edge wear, and a small amount of spotting and brown/gray patina. A small rough patch of oxidization is present on the horn of the grip safety. The grips are also excellent, with some light dings and dents. The box is fair, with wear and tear on the edges and label, along with some mild staining. Mechanically excellent.
