Description:

This is an example of a unique U.S. Remington-Rand Model 1911A1 presentation inscribed pistol produced at the company in Syracuse, NY. The left side of the slide has the standard "REMINGTON-RAND INC. SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A." markings, while the right side has been very nicely hand engraved with: "TO MY PARTNER/GUS W. DENT/4-1-46/FROM/JIM VENTURA". The right side of the frame was hand stamped with only serial number "113". Neither the frame nor the top of the slide have the standard "P" proofs and the frame is correctly not stamped with any U.S. Property markings or inspection proofs as is typical for presentation pistols. It has the late style serrated mainspring housing, narrow checkered hammer, checkered thumb safety, checkered slide stop and long grip safety. It is fitted with a set of late WWII "Keyes-Fiber" pattern with the ring around the grip screws and reinforcing ribs. They both have the five pointed star with the letter "K" inside and a mold numbers "27 and 23". It is also fitted with a late WWII High Standard contract barrel that is marked with a "HS" and "P" proofs on the side of the lugs. It is complete with a blued WWII contract magazine that is marked with a single letter "R" on the lip with some damage visible on the second cartridge inspection hole on right side.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus of the original parkerized finish overall showing high spot wear. The grips are also in excellent condition. Mechanically excellent. A very unusual and rare example of a U.S. Model 1911A1 Remington-Rand presentation semi-automatic pistol.
