Description:

Originally introduced a bit too late to see action in World War I, the Stevens 520 saw active use for police work between the wars, and available stocks were bought up in quantity when America started arming up for World War II. Single bead sight, with a 2 3/4 inch chamber, cylinder choke, and the three-line Stevens/Savage address on the barrel. A set of "P/(flaming bomb)" stamps are present on the left side of the barrel and receiver, with "U.S." on the left side of the receiver above the trigger guard. Checkered straight forearm and pistol grip stock, with a serrated plastic buttplate and a 14 inch length of pull.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 80% plus original blue finish with the balance mostly a smooth brown patina, primarily on the magazine due to cycling wear, and some light wear at the muzzle. The wood is also very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches and a hairline crack in the forearm and one in the wrist. Mechanically excellent.
