Description:

Manufactured in Germany in 1943, this is an attractive MP-40 submachine gun. One of the signature weapons of Germany on all fronts of WWII, the MP-40 made heavy use of metal stampings and synthetic furniture to increase production speed without sacrificing function. Operating on straight blowback principles with a contained telescoping piston assembly in lieu of a more common loose spring, the MP-40 was a lightweight, reliable and effective close-quarters weapon. Blade front and two-leaf rear sights, with a repeating partial serial number and "eagle/WaA254" proofs on multiple components, and "MP40/ayf43" on the rear. The trigger housing and grip are covered in panels of maroon-brown bakelite plastic, with a blued steel under-folding buttstock and a brown leather sling. Two extra magazines and a loading tool are included.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 80% plus refinished blue, showing some areas of faded markings, covered over pitting, spots of brown patina, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The bakelite components are all fine with some mild scuffing and scratching overall. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
