This is a very fine example of a scarce early 1937 dated Mauser Banner Commercial contract Luger pistol chambered in the 7.65mm Luger Auto cartridge. Produced in limited quantities, the dated Mauser Banner Lugers were intended for domestic consumption and foreign contracts, including a run for export to the Electric Company of Palestine; while not explicitly recorded, this example falls just 6 digits away from an identified Palestinian Luger. It has a "1937" dated chamber, and the front toggle is marked with the scarce smaller "Mauser Banner" logo. "Crown/crown/U" proofs are present on multiple components, along with matching "military pattern" external numbers. Fitted with a set of straw finished small parts, checkered hardwood grips, and a blued magazine with matching numbered alloy base.

Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing areas of gray patina on the grip straps, bright holster edge wear, and minor handling marks. The small parts retain 70% of the original straw color, with a bright appearance to the edges and contact surfaces, and the grips show some mild dings and stains. Mechanically excellent.
