Description:

In the accompanying factory letter, this revolver is listed with a 2 inch barrel in .38 caliber and parkerized finish when shipped to Port Transportation Officer, San Francisco Port of Embarkation, Oakland Branch, Oakland, California, on April 28, 1943. As confirmed in the factory letter, the revolver has the scarce 2 inch barrel, as the majority of production had a 4 inch barrel. Colt "VP" and "T" proofs are stamped on the left side of the trigger guard (one on each shoulder), an ordnance bomb on the left side of the frame ahead of the hammer, and a pair of checkered grips with Rampant Colt imprints.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine, retains 85% plus original parkerized finish with some light muzzle/edge wear, a few light spots at the top of the back strap, and a light cylinder drag line. The grips are very fine with a light chip at the base of the left panel, a few light dings, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
