This is a beautiful example of a factory engraved Single Action Army revolver engraved by Colt Master Engraver Bryson Gwinnell. The grip straps are gold plated while the remaining surfaces are silver plated. The barrel, frame, cylinder flats, ejector housing and top of the back strap are engraved with Class "C" special relief oak leaf and acorn pattern with a matte background. The trigger guard has a broad leaf pattern and the butt and lower back strap have a shell design with a fancy fleur-de-lis extension. The revolver retains the standard one line barrel address on top, COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 44-40" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Along the left side of the butt under the grip is marked "BRYSON J GWINNELL COLT ENG. 11.83". Standard blade and frame notch sights and fitted with smooth two piece ebony grips with a 1" round insert on the bottom of the left panel. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, caliber, barrel length, the gold and silver plating, class and pattern of the engraving done by Colt Master Engraver Bryson Gwinnell, extra 44 Special cylinder, numbered to the gun, but not engraved, description of the case and that it was shipped as 1 on order number 2375 to Ashland Sporting Supplies, 209 Orange Street, Ashland, Ohio on March 30, 1984. Complete in an American walnut presentation case with French fitted blue velvet lining, (as described in the factory letter) and Colt Custom medallion inset in the lid, original Colt "wood grain" box numbered to the gun with Custom Shop label and hanging tag.

Near new in case, with only slight storage marks. All of the gold and silver plating remain, and the silver has begun to tone slightly with age. The grips are as new. The case is excellent. The Colt box is excellent and the shipping box is very good.
