Manufactured in 1980. In the included March 2000 letter Mrs. Howard M. Dove states this Storekeeper was once a part of her late husband, Colt and Winchester master engraver, Howard M. Dove's (1942-1994) personal collection. Dove is one of only two people to be a master engraver at both Colt and Winchester in the modern era. Dove is known to Colt collectors as the "Official Engraver" to the Colt Collectors Association. The barrel, cylinder, trigger guard, and back strap feature simple scroll engraving possibly done by Dove. The engraving is unsigned. Perhaps the revolver was a sample showcasing a minimalist type Colt pattern engraving. Fitted with Colt medallion pearl grips. With display case containing an empty six round cartridge block, acrylic cleaning rod, and Colt Collectors Association medallion. The exterior of the case lid has Howard Dove's signature perched dove emblem.

Excellent, as professionally engraved retaining 99% plus factory quality blue finish and case colors and limited handling marks. The grips are very good with some hairline age cracks and a repair near the bottom on the right grip panel. Engraving is crisp. Mechanically excellent. Case is fine with some handling and storage marks and high spot wear on the lining.
