The included factory letter confirms the finish, barrel length, and caliber when it was shipped to a Mr. William Winkelman of Merrill, WI, on September 26, 1980. Winkelman was the owner of "Bill's House of Guns", reported one of the 10 largest firearms retailers in the U.S. at its peak. The letter also states that only some 3,500 Target models were produced. Includes original Colt "wood grain" box.

Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue, limited handling evidence, faint cylinder drag line, and sharp grip checkering. The box is good with wear and some tearing at both ends. Mechanically excellent.
