Manufactured in 1886, the second year of production, with standard markings. The rifle was subsequently masterfully custom embellished by founding F.E.G.A. member, Ray Viramontez (1933-2016), with factory style, relief engraved, gold inlaid game scenes, gold inlaid borders, and near full coverage floral scroll engraving on the receiver. The game scenes feature a pronghorn on the left and a leaping white tail buck on the right, with the serial number also inlaid in gold. The engraving is signed with Viramontez's "RV" in the bottom left of the white tail scene. The left side of the lower tang is marked "859 XX," and "322" is marked in the stock inlet and on the inside of the buttplate. The No. 3 weight octagon barrel is fitted with a globe front sight with spirit level, a filler in the rear dovetail, and has been drilled and tapped with two scope blocks fitted. There is a long range peep sight with matching engraving and gold inlay on mounted on the upper tang. The rifle is mount with a finely figured, "H" pattern checkered, Schnabel tip forearm with ebony inserts and a schuetzen pattern pistol grip stock with ebony insert, shadowline cheek piece, and a nickel plated Swiss buttplate.

Very fine as masterfully custom embellished, retains 99% plus blue finish, gold inlay, and nickel plating with a few light handling marks on the barrel near the rear sight filler and crisp engraving. The refinished replacement wood is also very fine with minimal handling marks, crisp checkering, and almost all of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.
