Description:

The accompanying factory letter confirms the No. 2 octagon barrel in .32 WCF and plain trigger. The rifle was received in the warehouse on February 10, 1891 and shipped on the same day. The No. 2 barrel is equipped with combination Beach front and two-leaf Lyman sights and is marked with the two-line address on the top flat ahead of the rear sight and "32 W.C.F." at the breech. The upper tang has a peep sight, and the lower tang has the 1879 patent date marking and the serial number. Blue barrel with remaining surfaces casehardened, and smooth Schnabel forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 80% original blue finish with the balance thinning to a brown patina. The remaining surfaces retain 50% muted original case colors The wood is also fine showing some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
