Description:

The two models of Maynard carbines were easily among the best firearms available during the Civil War and were used and well-regarded by both sides. The Second Model was manufactured in 1864 and 1865. Some were delivered late in the war and were issued and used by the 6th, 9th, and 11th Indiana Cavalry and the 10th and 11th East Tennessee Union Cavalry. Standard markings and features with "SWP" and "JM" cartouches on the left side of the wrist. With a .50 caliber Maynard casing.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retaining 85% plus blue finish on the barrel with muzzle wear, 30% case colors on the frame, and some light spotting. Wood is also fine with some light dents and scratches and two crisp cartouches. Mild pitting on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
