Introduced in 1878 with this example have a profuse period Nimschke style New York engraving. The engraving consists of floral scrollwork on a punch dot background that decorates the frame sides, barrel sides, top strap, cylinder flats and back strap. An engraved large script letter "B" appears behind the hammer. The revolver has target sights, one-line barrel rib address, and matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch. Fine as New York engraved. The barrel and frame retain 60% original blue finish and the cylinder retains 30% original blue on the cylinder with the balance a smooth brown patina. The replacement grips are fine with some minor dings and scratches and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically needs work as cylinder does not lock or rotate properly when the action is cycled.
