Blued, Winchester proof steel barrels featuring dual bead sights on the matted vent rib marked "CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER", 3 inch chambers with ejectors, and chokes marked "SKEET"/"SKEET". Blued receiver featuring a non-automatic tang safety and single selective trigger. Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrels and receiver. Highly figured, multi-point checkered walnut beavertail forend with rotary latch release and pistol grip stock with blued steel grip cap and checkered bare butt. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration, with the exception of the hard rubber buttplate when the final inspection was completed on November 11, 1953. According to page 243 of "Winchester's Finest: The Model 21" by Ned Schwing, only some 44 total Model 21s are estimated to have been built as .410 bore guns between 1951 and 1959. Of these 44 guns, only 19 are known to have been factory choked skeet/skeet, making this configuration extremely rare. Very fine, retaining 99% professionally refinished blue finish with a plum coloration on the action. Minor handling evidence and a matted appearance to the barrel release. The butt has been recheckered and a plug has been near seamlessly inserted into the rear to fill the original screw holes, otherwise, the wood is very fine as revarnished with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
