This shotgun has been masterfully upgraded from its original configuration as a standard Model 21 to the style of a Grand American by renowned Master Engraver John Adams Sr. Blued steel barrels with matted raised vent rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, chokes marked "MOD"/"FULL", standard Model 21 markings, and wedges of fine floral engraving with gold bands at both breeches. The blued receiver shows near full coverage floral scroll engraving matching that of the barrel as well as gold inlaid dogs on point on either side of the receiver in oval scenes with a gold pheasant on the bottom, also in an oval scene, and a bust of a dog on the trigger guard. The underside of the receiver is signed "-J.ADAMS-" at the front. Beautifully figured fancy checkered beavertail forend and pistol grip stock with red rubber Winchester recoil pad and a blued steel grip cap with gold lettering reading "GRAND/AMERICAN". Includes a leather bound takedown case, cleaning tools, nickel oiler, and two snap caps. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bores 9 inches from the breech .729/.730 inches; choke constriction measured at .011/.015 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.029 inches; drop at comb 1 9/16 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 13 7/8 inches; weight 7 lbs 15 oz.

Excellent as professionally upgraded by John Adams Sr., retaining 99% blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence. The wood is also excellent with a few very minor marks, some chipping and a crack coming off the slightly loose forend, and sharp checkering. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.
