This is a very rare post World War II S&W revolver with fewer than 1,000 commercial versions ever made in a serial range of S209792-S210782. Included factory letter states this revolver, serial number S210673, was shipped on November 28, 1947 to Sloan's Sporting Goods Company, Inc., New York, New York and also states "Very few of these guns were finished having the S serial number." It has the same features as the U.S. Army M1917 Smith & Wesson revolver only with a better grade of blue finish, checkered walnut grips with the Smith & Wesson logo, and without any property markings. Numbers matching barrel, cylinder, and extractor. Right grip marked "267143" underneath. Color casehardened hammer and trigger. Lanyard loop on the butt. Provenance: The Dr. Robert Azar Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 99% original blue finish with some light handling marks and light cylinder drag line. Replacement grips are very fine with some light chips and scratches, and a small crack on the lower right grip. Mechanically excellent.
